So I found this forum on people talking (or ranting rather) about the Projects.. The title is pretty much self explanitory: "What's up with the Projects? Get rid of them!"
I ran across one posting that I found to be quite amusing and definitely a different outlook on the area - this person, we'll call him "potrero phil" isn't upset about the projects - but rather all the yuppies moving to the hill!!
(and I quote....)
"now im not saying some of you havent lived on the hill for as long as i, 35 years, but seriously i believe we have bigger problems than car theft on the hill. this has been going on forever, i believe the invasion of yuppies is a much more pertinant issue. they are taking over the hill, slowly and surely. i used to get smiles and greetings everytime i passed my neighbors. now these cell phone toting, latte sipping human paraquates look at you crazy if you even nod in their direction. i say we take back the hill from these miata driving, live work loft, fancy chez blah blah types who think they can just push us out of the way. the projects are part of our history, people in the projects do great for our community. heres to the daily scoop and just for you, support your hill, dont complain becaUse you moved here on daddys trust fund 3 years ago from santa barbara and your e class benz window got cracked. im spent."

This will be the death of me.... Today our team made a run to Costco.
As we filled our gynormous shoppping cart in the seemingly endless rows of food, household paraphernalia and palettes of boxed items, I wondered to myself.. hmmmm. 2lbs of Frosted Mini Wheats® , 5.5lbs of Red Vines® , 4 more lbs of Jelly Bellys® , a 5lbs bag of peanuts, another bag of 250 pieces of various candy (marked as "Funhouse Treats").. and other various snacking delights - I realized that I am: a.) going to have to remind myself that snacking on peanuts does not bode well for my keyboard b.)My sugar highs are going to be tons of fun, but the crashes are going to suck and c.) my dentist is going to kill me!!
Note to self: Must remember to excerise a lot lot more! (okay - even "at all" would be a good start)
If you need me, I'll be in our team lounge snacking on.. something!
So - check it out! I am happy to say that I just launched a site for my dear friend Mary Mar called: Purple Bird Designs. She makes customized ceramic keepsakes for the little ones that will be treasured for years. Each item is hand crafted and designed by Mary Mar and can be customized with the name, color, and illustration of your choice! These are darling gifts and wonderful little treasures!
- Check it out when you have a moment!
Mary Mar custom made all of our place settings for our wedding registry and we are beyond thrilled with what she created for us! She is extremely talented!

Peanut and Sushi - love, (I repeat) LOVE to get to run round in the sunshine & lots & lots of grass!!
(..and yes, Sushi is infact drooling - she's THAT happy!!)
I love it when Joseph and I take the girls to Park Chalet by Ocean Beach. We take a blanket and just spread out while sipping on riptide red ale or mimosas!! On Sundays @ 2pm they have live music and it's just a great way to hang out and enjoy ourselves.
It's like a hidden little gem of a spot! (shhh...)
